Philadelphia 76ers Getting Inside

August 30th, 2008 admin

Andre Iguodala is thinking big after signing a big contract.
After agreeing to a six-year, $80-million deal that, with incentives, could be worth as much as $85 million to remain a 76er, Iguodala was already looking ahead to the 2012 Olympics and saying the Sixers are capable of making the 2009 Eastern Conference finals and possibly the NBA Finals.
Despite never being an All-Star, the 24-year-old Iguodala said he’s confident that he’ll represent the U.S.

Philadelphia 76ers Roster Report

August 30th, 2008 admin

DRAFT PICK:
Marreese Speights, F, 6-10, Florida. While the Sixers liked the way Speights played in the NBA Summer League, he needs to get stronger and improve his conditioning and is likely to be the 11th or 12th man.
BIGGEST NEEDS:
The Sixers landed the power forward they craved in unrestricted free agent Elton Brand, thanks to a five-year, $83-million contract. That took care of their weakest position with Brand, a career 20-point, 10-rebound guy.
